This is my first public Blog. Really excited! What is Blog (weB LOG)?

"A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. You can even find the definition of the word "Blog" in www.dictionary.com , so it is important to know this word.

SQL Server 2005 New Management Studio Experience

After I week back from the launch tour, I still enjoy to see so many people excited about the new Microsoft products and technologies. Also amaze the how knowledgable for the presenters/experts. May be because that was my first time to attend this kind of Microsoft event.

Anyway, I have used SQL Server 2005 management studio for a week, although still back against 2000 database. It was kind of funny, one day, I have to switch back to use 2000 Enterprise Manager to manage a database emergency issue in my company. The new user interface just too developer friendly, feel like a development tool. It will definitely take a while to familiar, so you anyone else, you should start to use the new management studio even though you still use 200 database. However, one thing I like is allowing you to create a database solution/project, so you organize your favourite db scripts and documents related to database. In my company, going to commit a database projects with useful scripts to version control, so I can share them with my co-worker. Will update my sql server 2005 experience in the coming months.

Goodies: SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition, VS 2005 Standard Editions, MSDN llibrary, Launch 2005 Resource DVD and the Cool T-shirt. The 100% discount for one of the six new exams is my favourite goodie.

The back of the cool free t-shirt. Only this t-shirt, it worth to drive 5 hours to Edomonton from Saskatoon. However, the most important had a chance to talk to Barnaby and Damir. Oh! Forgot to take a picture of their 64 bit AMD, 4 GB Ram demo machine.

The presenters did a great job to running the demo and highlight the benefits of VS 2005, SQL Server 2005 and Biztalk 2006. I particular enjoy the SQL Server 2005 morning session. Damir(the right guy in this picture) did a very good to walkthrough the new features, such as new SQL Management studio, Profiler, Performance Advisor, etc.

Here are the happy team from Saskatoon. In summary, although the place in Sliver City is little bit pack, in particular line up for the food and goodies, this was a great experience: listen to the exciting talk from the presenter, the instance feedback from the audience and the great free stuff from Microsoft. Oh! There are also several gifts to give away at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions, make sure you stay under the end of the talk. :>

Blogger's spam-prevention

Just went home after 5 and half hours driving from Edomoton and find out Blogger has a feature to hold your blog post in a draft mode to prevent spam blog. Little upset wasn't able to keep my colleague for the lastest news, but they should be smart enough to view the pictures in my flickr acccount http://www.flickr.com/photos/28424828@N00/. :> More to come for my experience of the Ready to Launch event in Edomoton.

My first proconsumer digital camera
